Overview

The world of Valhesia unfolds in an anthology of play-by-post roleplays, where magic animates the spirit of historical fantasy as it marches into a modern age. Each primary installment is their own stand-alone roleplay, each with different settings, stories, and magic systems but all of them still take place within the fictional world of Valhesia.

The goal was to create an expansive recurring space for roleplayers to write and develop their characters and have them continue living even as the roleplay ends, even if it is in the background or in memory; as fertile ground to create characters they'll grow attached to as they explore and discover more about them throughout the roleplays.

The Heirs Engine was made with the considerations of the play-by-post format in mind. Our community began with a dedicated group of writers who wanted to tell collaborative stories together. And so, we feel it is important to structure the roleplay so that you can participate on your own schedule without needing to be in the same room as everyone else.

About Us

The world of Valhesia began as a one-person worldbuilding project. One fateful day, I decided to share my world with a Philippine roleplay community named Lacie's Box.

It began with Heirs of Kadmon, a cozy family fantasy roleplay about the adventurous Kadmon family of the Ahmam Kingdom. Its relative success emboldened me to further hone the play-by-post format that sparked life into the world.

So many members of the Lacie's Box community have contributed heavily to the world from helping me manage the roleplays to creating songs set within the world to making art of their characters. I sincerely hope that this world continues to inspire.
